Dade City, Florida
This service trip included 95 high school kids and 14 Advisors advisors from the First Congregational Church in Guilford, CT. For 10 days we were in Florida volunteering with a local organization that helps migrant farmworkers. The projects we worked on included replacing tin metal roofs on two buildings 1500sf ea.; creating an arts center in an abandoned house which included new electrical and plumbing, new bathroom, new kitchen, new sheetrock ceilings, painted all walls and doors, new flooring, cleaned windows.

Additionally, we created a 3000sf outdoor patio for dining and worship services with stone pathways to connect buildings, and cleaned out an existing 1500sf building to create a community thrift store and installed new sheetrock walls and ceilings and lights. We also found time to tutor kids in various academic subjects.
