Oaxaca, Mexico
This was our second journey to help out at Casa Hogar, a children's home in Oaxaca, Mexico that currently houses 80 children. One of the countless reasons why Casa Hogar is in such desperate need of our support is that it is the only facility in the region that will accept children with special needs.Opening their doors to everyone has resulted in an overwhelming undertaking in relation to the minimal resources at their disposal. Disabilities of these children include blindness, deafness, cerebral palsy, polio, seizures, and learning disabilities. Without intervention from Casa Hogar, these children would surely have no chance of survival. On our two trips Make A Difference has helped repair & expand their dining hall, Built computer workstations for a new classroom space, Enclosed the outdoor laundry facility and Helped lay pavers in a new parking area. We have coordinated our efforts in Oaxaca with Bryan Nurnberger of Simply Smiles. Bryans dedication to helping these children is second to none and Make A Difference looks forward to helping Casa Hogar in the years to come.
